VRS is an electronic check-point for scanned images. As quickly as images pass through the scanner, VRS performs a mult-point inspection of each document. VRS instantly checks and adjusts for alignment (skew), brightness, contrast, and image clarity. Color Capabilities:
Ascent Capture has color image processing and advanced thresholding to improve image quality and OCR accuracy for color documents. It uses advanced algorithms developed by Kofax to handle full-color deskew, and state-of-the-art color-to-bitonal thresholding. Ascent Capture can now automatically recognize color images, extract data from them and deliver them into your business systems.

With color documents, VRS (VirtualReScan) automatically adjusts the brightness and contrast of the background shading. The shading is eliminated which reveals the desired text and results in a smaller file size.
